Cherokee Area

The Cherokee Area is located in northeastern Oklahoma on the shore of Grand Lake 0' The Cherokees. Cherokee Area consists of several smaller parks that are located near the Pensacola Dam on the southside of the Grand Lake, including Grand Cherokee, Riverside and Lakeside campgrounds. This area is known for great fishing and a variety of water sports, watchable wildlife and off-roading. Amenities include group shelters, RV and primitive tent campsites, playground, comfort stations with showers, lighted boat ramps and a 9-hole golf course. The Lakeside area of Cherokee Area also features a pebble beach for swimming. The park office is located east of langley to River Road, 1 mile south, below the Pensacola Dam.
