PLAYING ON THE GREENS

Grand Lake offers some wonderful golf courses with picturesque settings and views offering a challenge for any skill level.  What you find when you golf at one of the beautiful courses around Grand Lake is tree lined fairways and rolling greens. You’ll have the sun on your back and the lake in your view, and probably be thinking, ‘it doesn’t get much better than this.’

The lake region boasts five courses that are open to the public and two that are private clubs. And while the weather in northeastern Oklahoma is fairly moderate, the season to golf is as long as some of the fairways. Golfers play all twelve months at Grand Lake. 

When you want to rest your sea legs and you are feeling water logged from all the jet skiing and tubing, come ashore to play a round or two on our awesome greens. You will discover why this area of the state is called “Green Country.”

Public Courses

Patricia Island Golf Club - 4980 Clubhouse Rd., Grove 74344 -

Play on a Tripp Davis custom-designed 18-hole championship course. This course was designed to allow all levels of golfers to enjoy the game. With bent grass greens and beautiful views of Grand Lake from almost half of the holes, you will find this golf club to be an experience not easily forgotten. Pro shop with pro on staff, first rate practice facility that includes a driving range, a chipping green with two sand traps, a large putting green and weather protected hitting area for lessons in inclement weather. The club is located in Grove on Patricia Island.

Peoria Ridge Golf Course - 10301 S. 600 Rd, Miami 74354

Located just 2 ½ miles east of Miami on Highway 10, this 18-hole course features lightening fast greens with rolling hills and large ponds. With bent-grass greens and Bermuda fairways designed by Bland Pittman, this par 72 course will present a real challenge on the championship back tees consisting of 6,900 yards. A pro shop with pro on staff, driving range, putting and chipping greens as well as a snack bar round out course amenities. Host to the annual NGA Hooters Pro Golf Tour, you’ll want to give this course a try when you plan your visit.

Shangri-La Resort Country Club - Golf Course

Grand Lake’s only Golf Digest 4.5 Star rated courses offering Grand Lake’s premier golf experience featuring thirty-six immaculate, scenic, and challenging holes.  Surrounded by the natural beauty of Grand Lake and situated on over 300 acres on the Monkey Island Peninsula.  The well groomed courses feature bent grass greens and bermuda fairways.  You have your choice of two premier courses, the Blue Championship Course, Par 72 – 7,012 yards or the Gold Resort Course, Par 70 – 5,170 yards. Both courses were designed by Donald Sechrest with rolling fairways, ten water holes, lush greens and tough hazards as spectacular views of Grand Lake greet you on many holes.   Full pro shop, Bar and Grill, PGA professional, instruction, clinics, children’s camps,  group events, tournaments, and a 16 acre championship practice facility.  Lodging available.  Come by boat, plane, or automobile.

Monkey Island

Designed after the Tournament Players Championship courses with the back nine designed by Don Sechrest, this 18-hole club offers undulating bent grass greens and a tree-lined Bermuda grass fairway making it an exciting challenge to play. Pro shop, practice driving range, lighted putting green, tennis courts and junior Olympic size pool. The club house includes a bar, lounge, dining room and locker rooms. New ownership as of Fall 2007.

The Coves Golf Club - 32922 Pebble Beach, Bird Island 74331

This private 18-hole course is part of the lakeside golf community called “The Coves at Bird Island.” Situated in the Duck Creek area of Grand Lake, the course is exceptional in every detail with multi-level greens, gently sloping fairways, pro shop with certified staff and a 16-acre golf practice facility that is one of the finest in the state. Tee times are not required and you can drive your own cart to the #1 tee.
